As per KNPC General Design Guidelines (1995), UL 58 and BS 2594

CONSTRUCTION

:

Welded, horizontal, single wall, cylindrical shell with dished and flanged ends.

MATERIAL

:

Shell & Ends – A36 or Eq., Pipes – A53 Sch. 40, Forgings – A105, Supports – A36

THICKNESS

:

The tanks meet the recommended thickness and other standards required for engineering and safety.

  • Up to 3000 IG – Shell 6 mm & Ends 8 mm
  • 3000 – 10000 IG – Shell 8 mm & Ends 8 mm

STANDARD CONNECTIONS

:
  • Manhole – 24” NB, Plate flanges
  • Filling – 3” NPT (M), perforated pipe with cap
  • Suction – 2” NPT (M), foot valve with strainer fitted to the pipe’s bottom
  • Return – 2” NPT (F), socket with plug
  • Vent – 2” NPT (F), socket with plug
  • Dipstick – 2” NPT (M), perforated pipe with cap & dipstick calibrated in Litres.
  • Drain – 2½” NPT (F), socket with plug

STANDARD FITMENTS

:
  • 2 Nos. of Lifting Lugs shall be provided for lifting empty tanks
  • Saddles shall be provided of 150 mm height with 4 Nos. of mounting holes for each saddle. The number of saddles provided may vary, based on the size and capacity of the tank.

INSPECTION & CERTIFICATION

:

Visual examination of the welds.

Certificate of Manufacturing shall be provided.

TESTING

:

The Tank is tested pneumatically at 6 psig

SURFACE PREPARATION & PAINTING

:

Grit-blasted to SA 2½, both internally and externally

Internal: Three coats of amine-cured epoxy paint

External: Two coats of polyamide-cured coal tar epoxy paint to black shade

OPTIONALS AT ADDITIONAL COST

  • Saddles at custom height
  • Without saddles and with tie-straps
  • Radiography or Hydro test at 15 psig
  • Higher thickness of Shell and Dished ends
  • Third Party Inspection Certificate
  • Additional tank connections/ Manholes
